FANUC CNC controls and control units

Complete FANUC control units and the control generations they belong to. Replacement intent is what this page serves: a control is ordered by its series and its A02B number, and both are laid out below.

Control generations and replacement intent

People rarely shop for a control the way they shop for a drive. The control is the machine's identity: its series decides which boards, displays, I/O and amplifiers belong with it, and a replacement has to match the generation already in the cabinet. The catalogue therefore leads with the generations — Series 0i, its 0i Mate sibling, the Series 16/18/21 line and the Series 30i/31i/32i line, plus Power Mate — and lets the A02B numbers sit underneath as the exact ordering key.

Search results for a control head term mix new-machine controls with replacement units. This page is deliberately replacement-led: every entry is a spare unit for a control already in service, and the detail pages for A02B-0319-B502 and A02B-0338-B500 show the identity information the desk works from. If the machine's control generation is not yet confirmed, the blog guide on telling 0i from 30i generations walks through where the generation is marked.

The cabinet around the control

A control fault is not always a control fault. The same cabinet holds the PCBs that plug into the control — the A16B-3200-0219 board is the catalogue's named example — the I/O units that wire it to the machine, and the display the operator reads, such as the A02B-0120-C051 CRT/MDI unit. The desk treats these as one system: when an inquiry describes a symptom rather than a number, the answer can point at the board or display that carries the function, not only at the control unit itself.

Confirming a control before ordering

Quote the A02B number from the control's label and the series as the machine builder marked it. Where the two disagree — a swapped control in an older machine is not rare — say so in the inquiry and add the machine builder and model. Operator-side parts travel with the control too: the manual pulse generator A860-0203-T001 is listed with the feedback family, and it is ordered from this side of the catalogue just as often.
